Problem
IRIS Business Tax- Invalid IXBRL Computation, Input is not a valid base-64 string
Resolution
You get this error when generating the electronic tax return. This is a known issue in Business Tax which is only affecting the IXBRL Tax comp (not the IXBRL from Accounts Production).
- If you are on version 23.3.0.418 (Help and About) then update to IRIS version 23.3.1.45 and regenerate the tax return
- If you still get the error after updating then please apply this workaround (If an urgent submission then do not wait for a fix): Load the client and relevant period: Data Entry, Summary – Computations- Untick ‘for return period’ and select PDF option from the pull down list.
- Then save the Tax comp from BT as a PDF.
- Generate the CT600 and use the very bottom left Optional Attachments: ‘Select External File’ and click the Magnifying glass to find the PDF file and attach it. Now click OK to generate it and submit.
